OVERVIEW

To carry out the maintenance of electro-optics components of avionics systems (including communication systems, electronic & electrical systems, batteries, navigation system, lighting systems, wirings/cablings, AHRS, INS, EO, SAR, EW, GCS, GDT etc.) of aircraft/ ground control station (GCS)/ ground support equipment (GSE)/ simulators, as per the maintenance schedule, work cards, technical publications (AD/SB/SL) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Maintenance Manual.

Education and Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum diploma in engineering (aircraft maintenance with specialization in avionics) or equivalent 

Preferred Qualification

  • Professional certification in English language course
  • Professional certification in computer course
  • Professional certification in avionics trades
  • Professional certification in maintenance management software

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance in public/private sector organizations

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform maintenance of avionics systems of aircraft/ GCS/ GSE including removal, installation, repair, soldering, welding and testing of major spare parts and equipment in accordance with the established as per the maintenance schedule, work cards, technical publications (AD/SB/SL) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Maintenance Manual as per the specified timeframe
  • Perform on-going examination of avionics systems of aircraft/ GCS/ GSE and the related trade during the maintenance/ repair stage to identify any hidden malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Perform double check on the critical avionic systems of aircraft/ GCS/ GSE
  • Troubleshoot and resolve major scale technical issues
  • Conduct periodic inspection, pre and post flight inspection and complete the inspection check list to confirm the airworthiness of aircraft  
  • Use the latest/updated technical maintenance documentation for all maintenance activities
  • Use the maintenance management software to ensure that all the details related to maintenance activities performed are updated and accurate
  • Provide debrief of the maintenance activities performed to Lead Man and develop defect reports highlighting failures/impending service disruptions in maintenance activities  
  • Review and finalize the maintenance reports highlighting failures/impending service disruptions
  • Complete aircraft/ GCS/ GSE logbooks, work cards, maintenance reports, maintenance checklist, technical publications, deferred maintenance and accomplishment of correct airworthiness release procedures
  • Compete the log books and sign work cards upon the completion of maintenance activities of aircraft/ GCS/ GSE
  • Use, maintain and store company assigned tools and equipment in safe and proper manner. Report the condition of tools and equipment (in case of damaged, missing, non-calibrated and expired tools and equipment) to Lead Man
