To supervise the maintenance of electro-optical systems of aircraft including evaluate the capability and performance of existing systems; administer the maintenance/repair/modification jobs, resolve complex technical issues and conduct pre and post flight inspections to verify the completions of maintenance operations as per the aviation standards and program/project requirements.


Education and Qualifications


  • Minimum bachelor degree in engineering (electro-optics/electronic/electrical)

  • Fresh graduate engineers or minimum 8 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance in public/ private sector organizations

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct analysis to evaluate the capability and performance of existing electro-optical systems in order to carry out maintenance/repair work or modification in existing systems, as required


Based on analysis results and program/project requirements, Electro-optics Engineer will be accountable to:


  • Update program/project plans (in coordination with consultants/ suppliers) including phases, key activities, milestones etc. if required
  • Evaluate the completeness and technical applicability of manuals and technical publications for different aircraft including and not limited to maintenance manuals, service bulletins, procedures, drawings, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintenance manual and other specifications
  • Develop work cards for the relevant service bulletin and engineering orders for maintenance planner
  • Select and apply, engineering designs principles for carrying out maintenance/repair work or modifications for critical issues related to electro-optical systems of aircraft
  • Supervise the work of Aircraft Technicians and provide guidance to carry out maintenance/repair/modification jobs whilst ensuring compliance to aviation standards
  • Perform on-going examination of different components of electro-optical systems during the maintenance/repair stage to identify any hidden malfunctioning or damaged components and determine feasibility and method to carry out repairing or replacement
  • Research ways to resolve complex technical problems and troubleshoot unusual maintenance, repair and modification issues
  • Conduct pre-flight performance inspection of electro-optical system components to verify the completion of maintenance operation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable technical publications through the use of maintenance instruction manuals for the appropriate type/model/series aircraft
  • Provide recommendations to Operations Manager regarding the requirement of additional for tools, equipment and consumable items to increase the efficiency and speed
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of aircraft logbooks, deferred maintenance, accomplishment of correct airworthiness release procedures and other necessary documentations as required to comply with aviation standards and regulations
