OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager Communications is responsible for producing internal and external communications for the EDGE group in line with the Communications strategy, working with external agencies to disseminate EDGE’s messaging in a consistent manner and facilitating EDGE’s participation in international defence exhibitions and other marketing opportunities

Education and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in PR, Media, Communications or a related field
  • Master’s degree in PR, Media, Communications, MBA in Marketing, or a related field is highly preferred

 

Qualifications and experience

  • 12-15 years’ work experience in a Media agency, PR firm or communications role, including experience in digital marketing, preferably with knowledge of media analytics
  • 5+ years in a similar supervisory / managerial position in a comparable / related holding company
  • Knowledge of running communications campaigns and efforts for holding entities, particularly in a defense context, preferred
  • Experience in UAE/MENA markets is highly recommended
  • Knowledge of communications in a defence context highly desired

Key Accountabilities

Strategic:

  • Assist the VP Marketing & Communications in developing and delivering communications campaigns and strategies for EDGE as a group

Operational:

  • Develop and prepare communications materials for EDGE, clusters and entities under the direction of the VP Marketing & Communications
  • Provide creativity and flair to development of organisational communication
  • Promote EDGE products and services during events and expos
  • Develop and deliver timely and effective external communications, via a range of channels including social media to a range of audiences,
  • Plan interviews and press conferences for EDGE leadership
  • Join social media groups and professional platforms to discuss industry-related topics
  • Monitor corporate website and social media pages and address clients’ queries
  • Arrange for EDGE’s participation, presence, sponsorship and activities in international defence exhibitions
  • Track the progress and effectiveness of communication across various channels and streams
  • Craft and send regular newsletters with company updates
  • Network with industry experts and potential clients to effectively evaluate and use different communication channels
  • Maintain and write copy/updates for EDGE website as required

People

  • Maintain relationships with key personnel in branding and marketing agencies and in strategic marketing positions such as organizers or high-profile defence exhibitions
  • Build and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Work with consultants as required
