OVERVIEW

Monitor and plan the daily work operation including supply stocking locations, equipment transport, supply inventory, surplus equipment disbursement, inventory control, equipment maintenance and cleaning,  level stocking and auditing, staff resource allocation and employee time maintenance

Education and Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma in business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering.
  • Bachelor Degree in relevant field is preferred.                                                     

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3 years of relevant experience.

Key skills:

  • Notify the Warehouse Manager of low stock levels in a timely manner.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve discrepancies between invoices and actual received merchandise and troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return processes.
  • Adhere to safety and handling policies and procedures across all defence-related departments or areas.
  • Inspect deliveries and date times to verify consistency and quality throughout case lots.
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
  • Assign and ensure work tasks are completed correctly and on time.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational quality.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for receiving, unloading and processing deliveries.
  • Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs.
  • Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies.
  • Notify the Warehouse Manager of low stock levels in a timely manner;
  • Work with suppliers to resolve discrepancies between invoices and actual received merchandise and troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return processes.
  • Adhere to safety and handling policies and procedures across all defense-related departments or areas.
  • Inspect deliveries and date times to verify consistency and quality throughout case lots.
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items;
  • Assign and ensure work tasks are completed correctly and on time;
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational quality.
  • Validate warehouse items in order to ensure safe arrangement, timely update of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, proper documentation, and adequate inventory levels at all times.
  • Meets customer needs by supervising the daily operation of the site based distribution to accomplish the distribution of supplies, equipment and other items.
  • Controls inventory levels for assigned locations to ensure high quality service to departments at lowest possible investment in labor, physical space and materials consistent with Caracal policy.
  • Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions.
  • Ensures that materials are stored and handled properly to prevent damage and obsolescence; and manages costs of operating assigned areas.
