OVERVIEW

To conduct pre-modification/integration inspections to access the functionality of warhead explosive system against technical requirements and lead the modification or development and integration of warhead & explosives system for wide range of weapon products.

Education and Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum master degree in engineering (in disciplines including electronic, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, system) or equivalent  

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of integration experience in public/private sector organization

Preferred Experience

  • Experience of integration experience in public/private sector defence engineering organization 

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct meetings with concerned department and/or Program/Project Managers within EARTH to discuss the customer requirements and/or interpret RFQ/RFI/RFP to gather the technical requirements of the requested services
  • Develop technical scope, design approach, estimate budget, resources and identify potential risks. Conduct meetings with the client to confirm, negotiate and finalize the technical scope
  • Finalize program/project plans including phases, key activities, milestones, work schedule, work orders and work flows
  • Conduct pre-modification/integration inspections of warhead & explosives system to analyse reparability of existing system and/or recommend new/modified system and/or design new system against the technical requirement of weapon product.  

Based on the outcome of pre-modification/integration inspection, Senior Engineer- Warhead & Explosives will be accountable for the following activities:

  • Finalize the modified program/project plans including phases, key activities, milestones; work schedule, work orders and work flows
  • Finalize the selection of parts based on the design of weapons depending on obsolescence, availability and cost
  • Lead the modification/integration process to assemble and integrate warhead & explosives components/sub-systems or
  • Lead the development of design, assembly drawings, schematics, 3D modelling of new warhead & explosives systems
  • Review engineering design analysis, identify key risks and recommend risk mitigation measures
  • Finalize the data pack and ensure that key product aspects/specifications, 3D drawing and details of components/sub-system are communicated to the manufacturing partner/supplier
  • Lead the assembling and integration of new warhead & explosives components/sub-systems
  • Manage overall process of testing of product prototype (including arena testing and explosives static testing; measuring and calculating the shockwaves and dynamic pressure; analysis the fragment, density and velocity) review the test analysis and recommendations and decide appropriate actions to change the design, if required
  • Conduct on-going inspection to ensure the final product are assembled and integrated as per the key aspects and 3D drawings
  • Troubleshoot critical assembling and installation issues, as required 
  • Review post integration and final inspection reports. Recommend corrective actions, if required
  • Review technical reports and documentation
  • Deliver knowledge transfer/ training to clients on the operations of the modified/new weapons
  • Continually search the latest technological advancements/updates; conduct an analysis to ascertain their utilization in the project for product enhancement and support Project Manager to acquire the same
