To deliver EARTH’s strategic agenda and maximize shareholder value through the execution of corporate finance activities: project valuation and performance monitoring; business planning; capital structuring; budgeting; fundraising; and financial stakeholder management

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master degree in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent
  • Professional certification in accountancy (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA etc.) or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years in corporate finance  
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in managerial role  

Key Accountabilities

Managerial Role

  • Manage employees in the department in performing their delegated and assigned tasks
  • Ensure that the performance of various tasks and the conduct of the department are in accordance with the EARTH policies and procedures
  • Manage the preparation of all engagement reports prepared by the department to ensure that they are prepared in a timely manner
  • Ensure availability of required resources to carry out all the tasks related to the department
  • Review and discuss with the appraisee’s areas of concern, if any, and approve periodic performance appraisals of department employees
  • Identify the technology needs that ensure that the department processes are performed efficiently and cost effectively
  • Advise the EARTH CEO on the progress of all work under department’s control

Functional Role

  • Develop and implement finance strategy in line with the EARTH overall strategy and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Develop and implement finance, accounting and reporting policies, procedures  and systems to ensure:
  • Accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the Company’s accounting policies, recommended accounting standards and related accounting principles and practices
  • Timely and accurate preparation, presentation and delivery of monthly and annual financial statements as per accounting policy requirements, expected standards and agreed deadlines/timeframes
  • Effective monitoring of company performance against approved forecast, budgets, business plans and other appropriate benchmarks to ensure that proposed and approved projects are delivering both the required and expected financial returns to the company
  • Support the pricing of the company’s product and services
  • Maximization of efficiencies in operating processes and procedures
  • Direct the preparation and consolidation of the annual and long‐term capital, operating & revenue budgets and business plans
  • Set up the monitoring process that identifies and follows the Corporate Program Management processes and procedures
  • Support senior management with data, analyses, information and expert knowledge & advice to help them make informed decisions on critical issues
  • Direct the consolidation of financial data that are related to EARTH divisions and all projects
  • Supervise the finalization of customer and supplier contract related to financial matters
  • Collaborate with the legal department to ensure the protection of company information and intellectual property
  • Maintain effective management of the company’s financial resources in order to satisfy the commitment to shareholders and creditors; ensure that the company has required amount of funds to finance projects, business activities and to enhance shareholder value including:
  • Develop and implement a strategy for raising funds for major projects aiming at minimizing the company’s exposure to risks in the money market
  • Plan and implement appropriate shifts in strategy for fund‐raising from time to time in line with the company’s growth and business requirements
  • Direct the management of the company’s operating bank accounts and working capital to ensure the funds are effectively and appropriately utilized
  • Timely & accurate preparation an monitoring of cash flow projections
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with the banks and other financial institutions
  • Approve payments for suppliers, contractors and consultants, as and when required
  • Ensure company operates in an environment of strong Corporate Governance and in particular ensure timely and effective compliance with internal/external audit obligations, tax legislation & regulations and corporate governance legislation & regulations applicable to company
  • Collaborate with EDGE Group, monitor the corporate legal structure of the company to ensure that it is effective and addresses issues such as quarantining of liability, planning etc., and support the business operations being undertaken or contemplated including assisting in the establishment, acquisition, dissolution and disposal of corporate entities as required
  • Represent finance department in local and international meetings, conferences and exhibitions
  • Keep abreast of changes or developments in International Accounting Standards, Taxation Legislation & regulations as well as company law and corporate governance standards
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all key external parties such as banks, financial institutions, lawyers and auditors
  • Manage the coordination with Internal Audit/ External Audit team and provide required documents for completion of the internal audit/ external audit, as and when required
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement of finance processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practices’
