OVERVIEW

To develop designs of wide range of naval integration electronic/electrical/mechanical products; administer the installation process  and provide assistance/guidance to team in installing new/modified product whilst ensuring adherence to projects/programs plan and budget

Education and Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 8 years of experience in naval integration, preferably in defense industry    

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in planning of all potential projects within Naval Systems Division
  • Assist in the meetings with concerned EARTH divisions/departments/sections to discuss the customer requirements and/or interpret RFP/RFQ/RFI to gather the technical requirements of the requested services
  • Conduct meetings with concerned EARTH divisions/departments/sections to discuss the customer requirements and/or interpret RFQ to gather the technical requirements of the requested services
  • Develop initial technical scope, design approach, estimate budget, resources and identify potential risks. Conduct meetings with the client to confirm and negotiate the technical scope
  • Finalize the technical scope (in coordination with Project Manager) and coordinate with concerned EARTH divisions/departments/sections to conclude the proposal
  • Assist to develop and implement projects/programs plans including phases, key activities, milestones etc. and assign responsibilities to team
  • Assist to analyze and monitor project progress to ascertain whether the progress is being accomplished towards project objectives
  • Develop design, assembly drawings, schematics, 3D modeling of electronic/electrical/mechanical products (components/systems/instruments/equipment’s etc.) to capture the design intent and the document the key aspects/specifications necessary to accomplish the integration goals of projects/programs
  • Conduct simulation and design verification testing
  • Present product design in design reviews; highlight technical risk and carry out updates/revisions in design, if required
  • Select parts and identify part numbers in accordance with the material finishes
  • Develop data pack and convey the key aspects/specifications and 3D drawings of the design to manufacturing partner to develop a product prototype
  • Administer the testing of product prototype in various conditions to identify differences subjectively (from user-perspective) and objectively (with respect to the data)
  • Compare the test results against pre-defined/expected limits and recommend corrective actions to resolve issues/problems identified in the product
  • Work closely with manufacturing partner to ensure the manufacturing of products within the specified timeframe
  • Administer the assembling and integration of new/ modified products
  • Administer the on-going examination of products during the assembling and integration stage; analyze the feasibility and advise methods to carry out repair or replacement of hidden malfunctioning
  • Provide guidance to Technicians/Integration Team to utilize equipment’s (e.g. computer aided tools, volt meter, multi meter, circuit tester, logic analyzer etc.) to perform routine measurements of assembly, component and/or systems
  • Administer the post installation tests on products to verify their proper functioning and participate in the final inspections, if required to verify the completion of integration activities
  • Ensure the maintenance of logs and document all integration activities
  • Attend internal and external (customer) maintenance project/program status update meetings
  • Provide on-site customer support, as and when required   
  • Adhere to safety, health and environmental procedures
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement of electrical  design  processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practices’
